Dr. Shwedel is hosting another FREE day of dentistry with
Dr. Shwedel and his staff are busily preparing to make our 2nd Annual Dentistry from the Heart event even better than our first. We will be providing dentistry to people in need at no cost to them!
The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 25, 2010 at our office from 8:00am - 5:00pm. This is a first come, first serve event (NO appointments). Dr. Shwedel and his team of volunteers will treat the first 100 patients, or however many they can by 5:00pm. Each patient will receive 1 filling OR 1 extraction OR a cleaning. We will be accepting patients, ages 18 or older.
This event is our way of giving back to the community, being there for people in need of dental work.
Dentistry From the Heart was Huge Success
Saturday, October 10, 2009 Dr. Steven Shwedel and his team of 40+ volunteers, including Dr. Caroline Okonkowski, Dr. Scott Shwedel and Oral Surgeon Dr. Paul Ho, provided FREE dentistry to 115 people in need. Each person received a filling or an extraction or a cleaning. In total over $20,000 in dental services were performed between 8:00am and 6:00pm on Saturday.
“As a growing number of Americans are out of a job or just don’t have dental insurance, we felt this was a great way to help address the problem and to give back to the community,” said Dr. Shwedel.
Dentistry From the Heart is a non-profit organization with a simple mission – making people smile. “Believe me, the smiles and thanks we received from all the people we treated made the long hours and hard work one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives,” said Dr. Shwedel.
Thanks and appreciation goes to all the businesses and groups that through their generous donations helped us make this event so successful. Benco Dental Supply, Crest/Oral B, City of Taylor DPW and Parks & Rec., Olson’s Rental, Acee Deucee, Gordon Food Service, Meijers and Texas Roadhouse for providing food for the volunteers as well as the patients.
Dr. Shwedel and his volunteers are already planning to make this an annual event and are looking forward to their next Dentistry From the Heart event on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010.
