Our Staff
Pam is a Registered Dental Assistant.
She attended Ferris State University and has been working with Dr. Shwedel since 1977. Pam is married and has twin sons and a daughter. Now that she is an “empty nester,” she has time to enjoy cooking, traveling, exercising and socializing.
Cheryl M. is a Dental Assistant.
She has worked at our office since 2002 and is Dr. Okonkowski’s assistant. Cheryl is married and has one son.
Cheryl S. is a Dental Hygienist.
She has been working with Dr. Shwedel since 1989. She is married and has a son, a daughter, a son-in-law and two beautiful grandchildren. Cheryl enjoys watching her son play baseball, basketball and football and hanging out with her grandchildren
Kim is our Sterilization Coordinator.
She started out as our “co-op girl” in 2007 and ended up staying to work for us. Of course, she has been familiar with our office since Gaye went to visit her pre-school for Children’s Dental Health Month. Kim is currently attending Wayne County Community College for Dental Hygiene.
Ann is Appointment/Financial Coordinator for Dr. Shwedel.
She joined our team in November 2005. With her caring nature, she can easily make your dental visit enjoyable and as stress free as possible. When not in the office, Ann enjoys scrap booking and traveling with her husband.
Wendy is the Hygiene Coordinator.
She has been with our office since 2002. Wendy is seriously committed to helping our patients maintain their oral health by making sure they are seen regularly for Continuing Care visits with the Hygienists. Wendy is married and has two step-children.
Angie is a Certified Dental Assistant.
She has worked with Dr. Shwedel since 1981. She is married and has a daughter and a son. Angie is also a licensed Cosmetologist, Scentsy Consultant and Reiki Therapist. And in her spare time enjoys reading, movies, and antiquing.
Gaye is a Dental Hygienist.
She graduated from the University of Michigan and has been with Dr. Shwedel since 1979. Gaye is also the office “Party, Contest, & Community Events Planner” and has recently become Marketing Coordinator. Gaye is married, has two sons and a daughter-in-law and is looking forward to birth of her first grandchild
Marissa is a Dental Hygienist.
Although she has been a hygienist in the office for only two years, she has been with us since 2002. She started as our “co-op girl” while still in high school and then continued as part-time Dental Assistant and Sterilization Coordinator while attending Wayne County Community College.
Karen is our Insurance Coordinator.
She has been working with dental insurance since before 1980. Karen is definitely the “go-to” person to get answers about dental coverage. Karen enjoys crafts, painting and sewing.
Andrea is Appointment/Financial Coordinator for Dr. Okonkowski.
She has worked in the dental field since 1984 and has been with our office since 1999 when she started as Dr. Shwedel’s Dental Assistant. Andrea is married and has two grown children. Outside of the office, she enjoys her hot tub, scrap booking and redecorating her house.
